Who are we?
Following the opening of Renfrew Art & Framing, our Johnstone store opened in 2012. In Johnstone we have a very experienced framer in William ‘Gardener’ Mason. William has over 30 years experience framing and has worked closely with many art clubs including Kilbarchan, Kilmalcolm, Brookfield, Paisley Art Groups. Johnstone Art & Framing follows the same guiding principles as those in in place at Renfrew Art and Framing. One of the highlights of our Johnston store is the close relationship we have with local artists. As a result we often hold art exhibits in order to promote local talent. What do we provide?
Johnstone Art & Framing looks to provide a quality craftsmanship in any work we carry out. In store, customers will find a wide and varied range of frame and mount samples and will be helped by assistants or framers during their consultation in order to reach a well-informed decision. In addition, we stock a wide range of prints and gifts for purchase. Since the beginning, Johnston Art & Framing has collaborated with Scottish suppliers and stocks prints by Alexander Miller, Jack Vettriano, Avril Paton and Elaine Johnston, More recently, we have started stocking Harris Tweed products made by small Scottish businesses.
Giving back and working with the community are important aspects of our business. We believe strongly that young people are vital to the success and development of art and Scottish culture. That is why at Renfrew Art and framing we closely work with schools in the area. Whether it is helping with art donations, providing guidance and mentoring or taking on students as apprentices. In addition to this, we are actively involved in the ‘work experience’ programme carried out by the Job Centre.
